Brecan Mooney (GAI Treasurer) Search Fundraiser

On November 19th 2009, Brecan Mooney, the Geothermal Association’s Treasurer, tragically fell into the River Lee in Cork, following a night out with some friends. Brecan provided a fantastic contribution to the running of the association over the years, and it is with great sadness and regret that the search for our colleague and friend is still ongoing. Brecan was a Trinity graduate and professional member of the Institute of Geologists of Ireland. He was a valued member of White Young Green for the past 8 years. Brecan was an enthusiastic, diligent, helpful and sociable colleague who was a good worker, great company and an even better friend. He was a unique character with a loud voice, friendly smile and huge presence.

In order to raise money to continue the search, the Geothermal Energy Association will be hosting a Table Quiz at Donehy & Nesbitts, Baggott Street, Dublin, on January 28th 2010, at 7:30pm. Please take the time to promote this event to your colleagues and friends to help raise funds for the search. A flier can be found here.

Alternatively, tickets can be purchased as a donation if you are unable to attend.

Details:
Tickets are €10 per person, for tables of 4 (prizes on the night). Tickets are available from Sharon Comerford, Niamh O’Connell and Reception.
WHERE: Doheny & Nesbitts, Baggot Street, Dublin
WHEN: Thursday 28th January at 7:30 pm

Donations to “Missing Persons Association” and “Mallow Search and Rescue” are also welcome.
